The Plan West Vancouver Wants: Part 1 of 3
For months now, I’ve been listening — at doors, at coffee shops, in emails, on the Seawalk, in our shopping villages, at community meetings. I asked hundreds of residents what mattered most to you, and today I’m releasing the first part of what I heard, and what I intend to deliver as your next mayor.
Part 1 of 3 parts is called Taxes, Trust and Transparency, and it comes down to five commitments:
- Cut the planned 2027 tax increase by more than half — from nearly 7 per cent down to 3 per cent.
- Cap spending growth at half the rate of inflation, every year, checkable against the same numbers Statistics Canada publishes.
- Give residents a real seat at the table — advisory committees restored, real consultation before decisions are made.
- Open Municipal Hall to scrutiny — published contracts, service standards, and more of the public’s business done in public.
- Demand real reform at Metro Vancouver — starting with a truly independent inquiry into the wastewater treatment plant.
These aren’t slogans. They’re specific, and I intend to be held to every one of them.
